Fulfillment Associate
About Us
Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory in San Francisco’s Mission District. We make chocolate from only two ingredients, cocoa beans, and cane sugar, and travel to origins as often as we can to build good, trusting relationships with the producers who grow and ferment our beans. Our business is built upon trust and partnership, and now we’re looking for a Fulfillment Associate to support the fulfillment team.
The Fulfillment Associate is responsible for processing, picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment while maintaining organized inventory and workspaces. This role supports daily fulfillment warehouse operations and ensures orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently for online, wholesale, pickup, and internal needs. As part of a small, collaborative team, this role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting various operational tasks.
About the Job
There is no such thing as a typical day, but your mornings might start by greeting the team before setting up your station for the busy day ahead. Once you have checked in with the team, you print out a list of the online orders from yesterday and begin neatly packing up bars of chocolate and printing personal gift notes to customers. In your meeting with the team, you brainstorm alternative packaging methods, since the current brown paper is clunky and could be improved for the customer experience. As the meeting wraps up, you receive an email from the warehouse team -- there has been a delay in some of the products scheduled to arrive today, and as a result, some items will not be ready to ship until the following day. You will need to strategize which orders to prioritize in addition to alerting Guest Care so that they can begin the recovery process with the customer. Before you leave, you organize yourself for the next day, tidy the area, return your supplies to their labeled home, and clear the tables of odds and ends. This full-time (32-40 hours/week) position starts at $24/hour.
About You
You love a clean and organized workspace. When Fulfillment Supplies show up, you methodically consolidate boxes and rearrange the space to designate a destination proactively. When you notice the backstock of shipping boxes is looking a little low, you communicate the need to order new supplies. Every day you enter a zen state of mind while packaging orders for customers and double-checking the contents. You imagine the customer opening that box and you are always mindful to pack it in a way that doesn’t involve broken chocolate or a bent Gift Note. Throughout the day, you regularly update others about potential setbacks and ask for help when needed, proactively solving problems saves everyone a headache. When your methodical process of filling orders is interrupted by delivery, or you have to drop everything to help move in a new melanger, you pick up your work as you left it and take pride in finishing the day with every order fulfilled.
