About Us
Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory in San Francisco’s Mission District. We make chocolate from only two ingredients, cocoa beans, and cane sugar, and travel to origins as often as possible to build good, trusting relationships with the producers who grow and ferment our beans. Our business is built upon trust and partnership, and now we’re looking for a Seasonal Inventory Ops Assistant to assist with inventory, oversee products shipped and received, and ensure that the team is supported in order to do their best work during our busiest season.
About the Job
As our Seasonal Inventory Ops Assistant, your morning might start by building boxes and wrapping ice packs before breaking down boxes and taking them out to the recycling area. After that, you help unload a delivery of chocolate bars from our offsite cold storage facility and put them into their proper place in the warehouse. You then restock the fulfillment pick line and supplies, ensuring the team has enough tape, kraft paper, and boxes to fulfill all of their orders. In preparing for the next day, you notice that there are Treat Boxes on the shelf designated for Collections Boxes and rearrange them so that all merchandise is in its proper place when you leave for the day. This seasonal position starts at $25/hour with a schedule of Monday through Friday.
About You
Our ideal candidate is someone who prioritizes safety, attention to detail, and clear communication. You are comfortable in a warehouse setting and can work effectively both on a team and independently. Nothing makes you more satisfied than when everything is labeled, tidy, and put away in its proper place. You are constantly looking for ways to improve the warehouse to make it more effective and efficient. You will know that you are doing a good job when inventory is always kept at or above minimum par, products are organized and easily accessible, and the team always has what they need to do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Physicality - This role involves standing, bending, stooping, and lifting daily. From wrapping pallets to operating a pallet jack, you must be comfortable working in a highly physical role.
- Inventory - Under the supervision of the inventory team, track, report and restock physical inventory levels each day. Ensure that items are being circulated using the FIFO (first in, first out) system.
- Organization and safety - Ensure that the warehouse is clean, organized, orderly, and that food storage areas comply with all safety regulations. Put inventory away in designated spots, maintain inventory accuracy, and move pallets of product to the maker team.
- Support tasks - Most of your day will be spent on support tasks to help the team do their best work. Performing cycle counts, applying date stamps to finished goods, receiving POs, and preparing bulk orders for pickup.
- Support Delivery Driver - Support Dandelion driver in loading and unloading his vehicle
- Prioritization - Ability to prioritize daily tasks. You will likely get many urgent, last-minute requests. You should be able to take care of the tasks that need immediate attention while also keeping in mind your day-to-day responsibilities. You can seamlessly transition between various unrelated tasks without compromising quality.
- Communication - Maintain open and respectful communication with people on your immediate team and others in the organization.
- Team skills - You are a team player, and people want to work with you again and again.
- Other tasks as necessary
